On July 17, members of the Rambo Masonic Lodge in Dripping Springs, along with representatives from the Grand Lodge of Texas, participated in a time-honored cornerstone leveling ceremony. The event marked a significant milestone for two new North Hays County EMS locations.

The first cornerstone was placed at the Medic 75 station on Ranch Road 12, followed by a similar ceremony at the Medic 74 location on Heritage Oak Drive. These rituals continue a centuries-old Masonic tradition that blends practical construction with symbolic meaning.

In Freemasonry, the builder's square transcends its practical use in construction to become a powerful symbol of morality and fairness. Masons use this tool to represent the importance of treating others "squarely" – with honesty and equity.

This local ceremony echoes one of the most famous cornerstone events in American history. In 1793, George Washington, a Mason himself, laid the cornerstone for the U.S. Capitol Building. By maintaining these rituals, modern Freemasons like those in Dripping Springs carry forward a legacy established by their predecessors.

The cornerstone ceremonies for these EMS stations not only mark the physical foundation of new community resources but also symbolize the enduring principles of service and integrity that both Freemasonry and emergency services embody.
