The Rockhampton Masonic Centre was dedicated on Saturday, November 26. The building used to belong to the CQ TPI Freemasons, which stands for the Totally and Permanently Disabled Soldiers Association. Queensland also has its own charity, Hand Heart Pocket, that invests $5 million every year into various charities. Like many other community groups, the Freemasons are in need of new members.
The project aims to improve outcomes for youth in the state and Freemasonry is one of the ways to achieve this. Grand Master David Harper said Freemasonry was open to any man aged over 18.
The Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of Queensland, Sir John Swinney, says membership is open to all. “We don’t care what age you are, just join and enjoy it,” he said.
