Kenneth Duffie, a U.S. Navy veteran and long-time Zeiterion Theatre organist, has been recognized for his 75 years of membership with the Star in the East Lodge of Ancient Free & Accepted Masons.

Duffie received a pin commemorating his 75-year membership, and his friends, family, and Masonic brothers attended the ceremony.

The Kilwinning Club of Boston, a Scottish themed Masonic Club, conducted a performance, and Duffie received a certificate of appreciation from the Grand Master of Masons in Massachusetts.

As an accomplished organist, Duffie coordinated the donation of the famous Wurlitzer Organ at the Zeiterion in 1981 and played before the start of many performances for more than two decades.

He has also performed for over half a million local children as part of The Z’s SchoolTime performances.

The Star in the East Lodge was chartered in New Bedford in 1823, and is celebrating its 200th anniversary later this year.
