Trinity Lodge, a group of Cumberland and Westmorland Freemasons in Kendal, England, recently held a Cheese and Wine evening fundraiser at Kendal Masonic Lodge to raise money for Carer Support South Lakes, a charity that provides respite breaks for unpaid caregivers. The event raised over £3,000 and was matched with an additional £1,995 by the Big Give charity platform, bringing the total amount raised to £5,040.
he funds will be used for the Give Carers A Break Appeal, which helps caregivers in South Cumbria get some time away from their caregiving responsibilities. The event was organized by Scott Walmsley and his wife Mel, with the help of Joanne Jardine, whose daughter has been supported by the charity as a young caregiver. Local businesses also donated raffle prizes and other support for the event.
