The Lennox Lodge Freemasons, led by Worshipful Master Robert Riddell, has made a charitable contribution of £300 to the Richmond & Catterick Group Riding for the Disabled (RDA). The donation was handed over in the presence of David Wright and Andy Down, the lodge’s wardens, and Chris Clay, the lodge secretary. The presentation was made against a backdrop of disabled riders who had just completed their riding lesson.
The Freemasons have chosen disability as their charity focus for 2023, aiming to raise awareness about disability within the community. The funds for the donation were raised through a raffle held at the lodge’s last meeting, with the intention of supporting the Richmond & Catterick Group RDA and acknowledging the significant work they do in the community.
David Summers, the chairman of the RDA, expressed his gratitude for the generous donation, stating that the funds will be used to cover the group’s annual operating expenses. As a registered charity, the group relies entirely on community support. The donation from Lennox Lodge will assist in enhancing the lives of disabled riders by boosting their confidence, communication skills, and mobility. Above all, it will ensure they continue to enjoy their riding experiences. Summers assured that every penny of the £300 donation will directly benefit the riders.
