Freemasons donate hundreds to help South West Blood Bikes

by Lewis Clarke, DevonLive, 6 December 2022

The South West Blood Bikes have been given a £1,500 cash boost by Devon Freemasons. The money is raised through the Wake Fund, a trust conceived by William Alexander Kneel. He was the Devonshire Provincial Grand Master from 1970 to 1984 and owner of Kneels laundry and dry cleaners. The first disbursement was £900,000 in 2001 and today the fund has grown to £2.3 million. South West Blood Bikes are one of the organisations supported by the Devon Masonic community. The charity provides a free of charge urgent courier service to the NHS and hospices.

The Devon Freemasons have presented cheques to 21 deserving causes. South West Blood Bikes were one of those supported. The charity provides a free of charge urgent courier service to the NHS and hospices. So far this year alone the charity has completed over 2,000 jobs benefitting over 10,000 patients and covered 60,000 miles. If you are interested in taking part in any of these roles, email info@swbb.org.uk or contact us through our Facebook page.
