The Langthorne Lodge No 1421, a Freemason lodge in Essex, recently celebrated its 150th anniversary.
The lodge, which was founded in 1872 at Stratford in London’s East End, has met at various locations over the years and currently meets six Thursday evenings a year at the Howard Hall Masonic Centre in Braintree.
The Provincial Grand Master of the Essex Freemasons, along with other officials, were among the guests at the anniversary celebration.
The lodge has been recognized for its contributions to charity and community causes, and has raised money for various organizations, including the Masonic Charitable Foundation and Diabetes UK.
A new Master will be installed in February and will choose a new charity to support.
